Semen bank Nabha, a unit of PLDB Punjab, is providing high quality pure breed frozen semen straws to dairy farmers and breeders of Punjab. By using these straws of high breed quality dairy farmers can enhance the pedigree of their local breeds. They can improve the genetic material of their animals which will eventually increase the milk production.

         Semen bank Nabha started producing semen for the first time in 1974. Since then there has been tremendous improvement in the quality of the semen production by using latest technical measures. Now semen bank Nabha is supplying high quality semen not only to dairy farmers of Punjab but also contributing in breed improvement for whole country. Semen bank Nabha has been getting Grade-A certificate since 2007 by government of india. It is also ISO 9001-2008 certified. Due to the high quality of semen at our semen bank many semen stations all over the India prefer to buy semen straws from us.

        Our semen bank has high quality technical machinery and fully biosecure lab to produce best quality semen straws of international standard. To make quality better very superior quality machines have been installed in lab from Germany and France. For the first time in northern India clean room semen processing unit has been established. We have high genetic potential pure breed HF bulls from Germany, Imported Jersey from Denmark and embryo bulls of high dam yield mothers from USA. Frozen semen straws of all these bulls are already in circulation and playing a great role in breed improvement and milk production in our state.

        Newly build semen station unit 2 is well equipped with all the latest quality of managmental tools including feeding system and automatic water trough , washing bay, collection centre and single bull pens with free loafing area. All these facilities make this semen station one of the most modern semen stations in northern India.

The following semen straws of different breeds are produced at our station

This semen station is situated in 145 acre of land and has a capacity of 300 bulls of different breeds. Good quality green fodder is produced in the farm itself for bulls. Balanced feed of good quality is fed to bulls manufactured at feed processing unit Rauni, Patiala.
